Oscar & Adriana’s Downtown Mesa Session

So to get started, I met these two, wow, so long ago now, especially at my age, SIX YEARS. Wow. This was back before they were even dating, and I was in my own world with my own relationship. A year or so later I started taking pictures, my sessions started at $50 each and I used a Sony Cybershot camera, no lenses, just point and shoot. (Ha) I always had a thing for photography, but at 18/19 years old, I hadn’t a clue what I was really doing, so, you know. They still decided to have me do their engagement photos, by my house, again (ha ha). So, since when I do photos of the same couple twice, I like to do a throwback. Let’s just throw this in there….

Yep… Totally off center, tilted, awful positioning. I mean, they still cute.. But, I very obviously had NO idea what I was doing.

Flash Forward(zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzoooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm) Four years.

We decided to go to Downtown Mesa. I haven’t really ever tried doing city portraits, but since it was a giveaway session and they were up for experimenting, I went out of my comfort zone. There was actually an art/science contest/festival there and it was super cool. But, you know, off topic. The golden hour sunset is my new friend. I’d never actually done any photos so perfectly set during golden hour, normally I’m so late, but we were one time, and everything went smoothly. AWESOME
